La Traviata - The Met at the Movies - Altamonte Springs Mall AMC Theater

Enjoy the Opera in full HD visuals with great camera closeups, behind the scenes interviews and sneakpeaks, amazing sound and you get to pick the best seat in the house. Sung in Italian with English Subtitles. La Traviata is an amazing story which has influenced movies such as Pretty Woman and Moulin Rouge.

This glamorous and heartfelt portrait of a worldly courtesan forced to give up the man of her dreams is arguably the most popular and accessible of Verdi’s masterpieces. The tale of masked revelry, family strife, blighted love, and selfless sacrifice weaves an amazing range of emotions and moods into a nearly perfect dramatic confection. The memorable score positively glows with poignant preludes, inspired ensembles, and marvelously crafted duets. La Traviata is an irresistible classic.

Is this a film or a live broadcast from the Met in New York?

    July 14, 2013

    • Rebecca S.

Fandango says it is a live broadcast from the Met in New York.

      July 14, 2013

    • Amelia S.

It's a Film of a Live Broadcast. Almost even better than being there live but even better with the behind the scenes stuff during intermission.

I might go in honor of my mother, who loved opera. And I like grand, musical spectacles myself. Do we know the length of this?

I am not sure of the length. But I did see the Rigilletto Met at the Movies performance and they actually had intermissions between each of the three acts so there was 15min available to stretch your legs and run to the restroom.

Fandango says it's 2 hrs 30 min in length and I'd add 15 min of previews.

    Looking forward to it.
