This meet-up group is dedicated to creating social events for people who want to expand their social network. I have started this group after attending a few other groups and not feeling the right vibe, OR wanting to attend another group but nothing happens.

Personally, am self-employed and an expat from the US (Colorado) - I've have found it hard to meet people the ol' fashioned way (at work or school) and hope to create a group that is useful and beneficial for many. Most events that I plan will be in the city, Eastern Suburbs, Surry Hills area - and I'm happy for anyone to plan anything, anywhere.

Most events will be online about 3 weeks in advance to give you plenty of time to arrange your schedule. If something needs to be pre-booked, I will give more than 3 weeks notice for an event.

We will plan drinks after work, movie nights, book clubs, Sunday brunch, dancing, jazz - actually, anything you want. We'll keep our events smallish so you can actually meet people and not get lost in the crowd. Generally we've been getting between 20-50 at most events). AND, if you'd like to host an event, please step up so we can have quite a few things to choose from each month. I promise that this won't become a singles group, or a boozy crowd - just friendly people who want to meet other folks for their own social lives! :)

  • you are somewhere in the age range of 35-45ish...
  • you might work for yourself or you work with only a few people
  • just maybe you have been in Sydney your whole life but find yourself without many people to hang out with

  • you might be a mum or dad
  • perhaps you are single or you might be in a relationship
  • you are looking for something to do a few times a month

PS - we love the number of active friends we have and we want to keep our members as active as they want to be. Please have a look at our meetup page every now and then and join us when you can. We do monthly housekeeping and delete members who are inactive on the website for more than 3 months. This helps us to know more accurately how many 'real' friends we have on Meetup, not just people who have joined. Hope to see you soon! :)
