Neighborhood Cleanup and Celebration of Oakland Arts and Culture
The Jack London District Association Board, in conjunction with the Radiance Oak community center, will be hosting this year's 15th annual Trash Bash Neighborhood Cleanup.
Every year we get together to clean up the hood and party with our neighbors. Cleanup starts at 9, food at noon. This is always fun, so please come out and meet some neighbors and pitch in for a couple of hours of easy work to help beautify our district. Then have lunch provided by local businesses, including excellent BBQ from Steve Sacks and the folks at Prime Smoked Meats.
Music and entertainment will be offered after the cleanup, and local art will be presented in the Radiance Gallery.
All are welcome and there is no charge. This is a family affair -- kids are always welcome.
9:00am Cleanup begins, we will provide tools and equipment, and cute orange vests.
12 noon Lunch is served for volunteers. We have donations from local vendors including (probably) Prime Smoked Meats and local microbreweries.
12:00 to 3pm Art Show, featuring works using recycled and "found object" materials.
12:00 to 1pm Entertainment by local DJs and performers
