Fold forming to create a very ethnic necklace and earrings. Photo and tool/supply list will be posted soon. I will also be creating a metal kit for purchase and I'll advise you of the price when I post the supplies list. Because I will be providing many of the essentials needed to work with metal and annealing, the cost this month will be $10 per member, not including any purchased supplies.
I'm sorry the pictures came so late but they are in the Photo Gallery now. You will see that the pendant and earrings are made of copper, but could also be brass. I used ceramic beads I had for the adornments. Semi-precious stones, crystals, etc. may also be used.
Supplies: Copper sheet, appropriate to the size you want your pendant and earrings to be. I suggest 20-21 gauge, but a higher gauge will work harden and be usable. Beads to adorn. Copper wire 18-20 gauge. Purchased chain that will take Liver of Sulpher.
To purchase Copper or Brass and wire the cost will vary from $3-5 based on the size and metal you want. In the sample picture the Pendant is 3"w x 2 1/2"h, while the earrings are 2"l x 1" wide.
Tools: Hammers, chasing and texturing. Round and wire nose pliers. Bench block and a table vise if you have one. Files and/or emory boards. I have a hole punch, but you are welcome to bring one if you have it.
I will have 2-3 MAP gas torches. If you own a butane torch please bring it as well. There will be three firing stations set up for us to work at.
NOTE: We meet on the 3rd Saturday each month at 1PM since we have some members who work on Saturday morning. It will be 1 to 4 PM.
Great group, great fun! Join Us Soon.......
