I am a jewelry artist recently relocated home to Texas. I want to meet and share with others like myself who share a love of creativity. I wire wrap, chain maille, and recently started working with fire.
I started making rosaries and got hooked, but that wasn't enough for me. My next move was to start stringing beads into necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and watches. I worked on color theory and multiple textures in my pieces and sold many to friends and co-workers. In the past two years I have expanded to wire wrapping, and chain maile, as well as free form metal shapes that are then embellished with crystals and beads. My work was in the Earth Works Gallery in Leesburg VA, where it was well received. I am currently looking to place my jewelry in local galleries and shops. I have started working with soldering and want to expand on that. I also want to get more experience and knowledge on cold connections (such as riveting), and metal folding. I am mostly self-taught, taking the odd class here and there to refine or add to my skills.
About 16 years off and on.
I like to do complicated wrapping and would like to start weaving wire as well. I enjoy chain maille, and am constantly looking to expand my pattern expertise. I want to do folding and forming, using cold connections to make a funky looking piece to wear.
Not at this time, but I am looking to expand my horizons and experience.
In some areas, soldering for example, I am a beginner. In other areas such as stringing, color theory, etc. I am close to an expert. Most of everything else I currently do I would consider myself intermediate. But I catch on fast and quickly advance my skills with practice.
What a great group of women we were, beautiful pieces were produced. I love working with all of you - I am always inspired by what you create.
