I love that you can take a pile of thread, some blank fabric, and with hardwork and precision - turn it into a breathtaking treasurer! I know some quilters, and it still amazes me to see all of those tiny squares of fabric come together to form what is truly a masterpiece. The creativity and possibilities are unlimited.
I like learning new things, and I often find that I am "teaching myself" a new skill from a book or online tutorial. I would much prefer to bounce ideas/tricks of the trade off of others who have done it or are also looking to learn something new. Plus, we stitchers are a rare breed, and I think we would have fun discussing our successes, mishaps, and (of course) pricked fingers!
As I said, I am always interested to learn something new. And when I master a new skill I can't wait to share it with someone else who appreciates needlework.
I am from the Charleston area and have been cross stitching since I was about 10 - and I love it! I do mostly stitch work but am excited to broaden my skill set. I also ride horses and am a HUGE animal lover.
