Our first after-work hike of the spring!
NOTE THE DATE: 4/10/2014
We'll hike 3.2 miles straight up to the saddle of Round Mountain (about a mile past "sink rock").
This is a sustained uphill climb- you should have a base level of fitness to participate. We'll be turning around just past the 3-mile marker in order to make it back before it gets too dark. Bring your headlamp!

• Beginning elevation: 5,750
• Ending elevation: approx 7,500
• Elevation Gain: 1,800
• Skill level: Strenuous
4:50pm at JJ's in FoCo
5:10pm at Kmart in Loveland
5:30pm at the trailhead
Directions to the trailhead:
Travel on U.S. Highway 34 up Big Thompson Canyon west of Loveland, four miles past the mouth of the Canyon. Viestenz-Smith Mountain Park used to be on the right before it floated away, and on the left a short dirt road provides access to the trailhead parking lot.
