19:15-20:00 - Don't like working? Let Yeoman do it for you! - Part 2

Title: Don't like working? Let Yeoman do it for you!
Abstract: When working with even medium web applications the amount of configuration and boilerplate can be daunting for many people. Even experienced web developers may find it cumbersome.
Find yourselves asking "Compile what now? This is web! WTF?". We want to use all those cool thingamawhatsnows like LESS, CoffeeScript (This must free me up for coffee), and sources compression, but we just want someone else to do it for us while we're throwing darts with our buddies... I mean our colleagues. Say hello to Yeoman! Just tell him what you need and go have your coffee. Yeoman is like little Genie in the webiverse. Its superpowers include Grunt and Bower. In this meetup we will learn how Yeoman can help us achieve coffee breaks.

I heard a lot about Yemoan and it sounds like a great tool but after trying to set it up on windows 8 for more than an hour I gave up.

I'm looking forward to finding out about a decent workflow with Yeoman and maybe how to set it up properly (on windows) :)

This session be presented on a mac machine. For windows you run the same commands. The difference only in environment vars and tricks like proxy.

I would just like to say for the record that Yeoman is not a time management tool, but rather a web software lifecycle productivity tool. How we use the time it freed up is another story :-)

It always nice I think to get the conversation started and get some preemptive feedback. In the comments feel free to say why you are coming and what you'd like to experience in this meetup. I promise to read it, and if you post soon enough I'll make an effort to address your requests.

    See you there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
