FrontEndParty's First Meetup

CSS3, HTML5, SASS, LESS, Knockout, Ember, Angular, D3, flat / responsive design…are you finding it tough to figure out what's what in the ever changing landscape of front-end development? Or perhaps just interested to see what cool stuff people are doing with all these new tools at their disposal?

Welcome to FrontEndParty, the first NOLA front-end developer / designer meetup group. On the last Thursday of each month, we host three presentations (between 5 to 15 minutes each) on the front-end world from developers and designers around New Orleans.

To start it all off, on the 28th, we'll have these talks lined up:

Matt Shwery

UI Developer @ Federated Sample

Matt Shwery will present about how small layout and markup decisions can simplify responsive design, reduce markup complexity, and make managing CSS breakpoints a breeze.

Joe Ellis

Developer / Designer @ Audiosocket

Joe plans to give a quick walkthrough on his tips, tricks, and best practices learned from dealing with CSS in medium to large web applications.

Brian Danos

UI Designer / Developer @ Webdevrs & Archon

Brian Danos's talk, "CSS Sugar" will cover topics from filters to transforms. Or as Brian has eloquently put it, "Effects so sweet they'll make your teeth rot."

Meetups start at around 7:00pm at The Dojo (http://www.dojo.la/dojola/home) in the Exchange Centre at 935 Gravier Street, Suite 1650 (go to the 16th floor and look for the Ninja on the door).  These details and more can be found at http://www.frontendparty.com

Look forward to seeing you there!

I'm sorry, I have band practice. I hope to make it to one of these meetups though.

My wife is having a child tomorrow, I have three band practices, AND I have to catch an 8PM flight out of town but I'm still going to the frontendparty.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
