This will be the first anniversary of our Meetup's inaugural event, and the 3rd annual cleanup of the South Platte River through Denver. Please join us for this fun gathering of rafters, canoeists, kayakers, as well as hikers and cyclists. We are going to clean up the river and shoreline of the South Platte through the heart of Denver, get our paddling muscles acquainted with moving about in moving water, and create some good karma for the paddling season that is upon us.
There will be a BBQ at our destination at City of Cuernavaca Park at 3 PM, along with raffle prizes at 4 PM. Please see the link for parking and shuttle information. Make plans now to join with friends and come on down to the river. It's close by for most of us and promises to be an enjoyable way to give back while spending a day on the river.
Dress for getting wet and dirty, prepared with footwear that you can get muddy, gloves and long pants to protect against the scratches from shoreline sticks and grasses are also advised.

The weather was great at the start and began to cloud up, but all was well for the work, and then the deluge happened while we were all huddled at the BBQ. Great work combined with a chance to be on the water in a reasonable flow.

    •  Great event to get out and do something for the river - We walked instead this year and gather a good amount of debris. My husband wasnt feeling well toward the end of the day so we did not attend the barbeque.
    •  Where were all the folks? Come on......."fair weather people", this is Colorado!
    •  Very well organized. Fun group....And I didn't swim out of my duckie!
