This isn't necessarily a "paddle event" and there aren't any paddling films in this Radical Reels line up, but there are some great, high energy outdoor films. Great way to end the weekend and start the work week. Tickets are only $10 at REI Boulder or Denver Flagship.

Faster, steeper, higher, deeper – the Banff Mountain Film Festival Radical Reels tour is coming to Boulder! Catch the steepest and deepest in high-adrenaline outdoor sport films when the 2009 Radical Reels Tour comes to Boulder on Sunday, April 19, 2009. Hurtle down steep untouched powder, feel the cold spray of stomach-dropping kayak first descents, fly high with the world’s wildest BASE jumpers, and much more in extreme mountain sports.

Growing out of the famous Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, Radical Reels screens the best in action sports filmmaking, audience-tested and programmed for maximum excitement.

The Radical Reels Tour kicked off in the winter of 2004 in a limited number of special locations, and now visits about 15 states and provinces.

Hosted by REI, the Radical Reels Film Tour screens in Boulder on Sunday, April 19th, 2009 at Muenzinger Auditorium on the CU Boulder campus. Tickets $10 available at REI Boulder and Denver Flagship.

Cliff Notes

This film explores the beautiful but deadly cliff-jumping culture in North Vancouver's Lynn Valley. The locals seem to know the locations, the lines and the safe times to jump. Everyone else is terrified -- or at least they should be, because this is seriously deadly.

Daily Strips
Focus: Skiing, BASE jumping, Speedriding, Snowboarding, Alpine Climbing
The project? Five days to produce a short film that highlights five extreme sports: skiing, snowboarding, speed riding, mountain climbing and BASE jumping.
The result? Daily Strips.

Amazing freeriding sequences from Alaska and breathtaking paragliding acrobatics show where snowboarder Ueli Kestenholz and paragliding pilot Mathias Roten got their basic skills for speedriding. They take freeriding into a new dimension. Impossible lines now are rideable by simply flying over massive cliffs and seracs. Fascinating footage is captured as they go for their ultimate goal: descending from the world-famous Swiss mountains the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. BASE jumper Ueli Gegenschatz, mountaineer Stephan Siegrist and skydiver Stefan Klaus show their perspectives of the Eiger.
