Early season whitewater warm-up. Perfect for rusty whitewater paddlers or skilled river paddlers.

Colorado River from Pumphouse to Yarmony Bridge
10 miles class II+

If the Dolores is flowing, this will be our shakedown cruise as we head west. If not, it's still a good day to play. There are two canyons along this section, the first just below Pumphouse is class II with some fun features and a hot spring that we'll stop at for lunch. Below Radium the river becomes a little more technical and might get close to class III depending on water levels.

My group will be OC-1 but kayaks are also welcome. Dress for ice cold water, wear a helmet, etc.

Hi. I just moved to the area two weeks ago (from San Francisco) and am excited to join tomorrow's trip (I'll be the one in the bright red drysuit.) Does anyone want to carpool? I'll be coming from the Boulder area and can meet you at a convenient spot. Best, Jason

To prevent further confusion, the trip is for whitewater canoes and kayaks. I will help rafters with shuttle, but do not plan to wait for rafts on the flats.

    •  It was a beautiful day. partly cloudy, with some stong winds most of the way. The river had some good flow at about 1600 cfs or so. It was a busy river today with a few really good big waves.
