Open Pool Practice for the upcoming Kayak season

Open Pool

The Colorado Whitewater Association offers open pool practice and tune up for the upcoming kayak season on your own without instruction. The pool will be open for kayaking practice from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sundays April 21, 2013 through May 5, 2013.

Cost: $9 pool entry fee.

Note: there is no open pool this Sunday, April 14th.

Bring your own gear.  Some demo kayaks, paddles and spray skirts are provided by Golden River Sports, however, students in Colorado Whitewater classes have the first priority for the demo boats.

Colorado Whitewater (CW) is an all-volunteer organization that promotes the sport of whitewater kayaking in the Rocky Mountain Region. We introduce new kayakers to whitewater, teach paddling technique, promote and teach whitewater safety, and support racing and freestyle kayak competitions.

In addition, our mission is to inform the public about river access, conservation, and other general issues concerning rivers and wilderness, while working to resolve problems related to those issues.

Kayaking Classes

CW offers paid instruction open to all CW members.

Our classes are taught by volunteer instructors, who are certified by the American Canoe Association (ACA). ACA certification is the national standard for professional kayak instructors. We charge a fee for each class, which is used to pay for expenses such as class costs, instructor certification fees, and liability insurance.
