The Warrior Games

This is not a formal Meetup, it is a "Show and Go" announcement for members.  If you want to make a plan, feel free to use the comment section below.

First, watch this slide show:

The 2013 Warrior Games will be May 11-16 in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Training Center and the Air Force Academy.  There will be over 260 athletes here representing all branches of military service, including Special Operations and the British Armed Forces.

This will be the fourth edition of the Games and it has become quite a large scale event.

This year, Prince Harry is scheduled to be here in support of the British team.  The competition will include:  track & field, cycling, swimming, shooting, archery, wheelchair basketball, and sitting volleyball.

The Opening and Closing Ceremonies are ticketed events; however, all of the competitions are free and open to the public.

I hope that if you're in the Springs area, you'll be able to get to some of these events.  The event schedule:  http://www.teamusa.org/US-Paralympics/Military/Warrior-Games-presented-by-Deloitte/Competition-Schedules.aspx .  If you go to the cycling event on Sunday, the start time is 12:45; however, please note that Stadium Drive into the Start/Finish area will close at 11:30; so, plan to get there early.

Thank you to Charles Lehman for notifying of this photo opportunity.

Feel free to comment and set-up car pools to go if you are so inclined.  Let's do a photo album here to, ok?

Enjoy!

Is this an on-your-own event or are we going to try to meet somewhere as a group?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
