Important Camera Information from the Pepsi Center!

The Sports Photography Event is created to allow ALL styles of camera in the building to take amazing pictures of the players during WARM UP. During the game, we ask all the attendees to bring a case to put away their lens as it won’t be allowed in the game.

Please note that that there is no flash allowed in the building. From a previous group we had out, they suggested I recommend those to bring both a lens for up close shots (on and through the glass) as well as a longer lens (for those who have it), as you will have an opportunity to shoot the players from the top of the first level.

We highly recommend you to place your cameras back into your vehicle before the game, however we understand that some participants would like to keep their cameras with their for security purposes. Since these cameras are not typically allowed in the building, we have been temporarily allowed an alternate option. You can keep your camera with you during the game, but do ask that you place your camera back in its bag for the duration of the game. You can bring a point and shoot camera…or use your camera and just remove the long lens.  Please note we are only going to be allowed to let guests keep their photography grade cameras with them during the game if they abide by this policy. If one person does not, it force us to change our policy for every future photography group at the stadium. Please plan on abiding by this policy so we can continue to organize this very cool Sports Photography series!!!

Thanks Karen for this awesome opportunity. I definitely appreciate the time and effort you and the staff (at the Pepsi) put into the event. I had a real great time.

really enjoyed the whole thing, of course would be cooler if we were able to shoot during the game. I really enjoyed the fact that we were able to spread out and get our own space during the warm-ups. I appreciate that the special events / ticketing seems to be spearheading this Sports Photography Series. I hope to make another event like this.

I hope there is something like this for the Rockies soon! That would be awesome.

I don't know whether they are allowed, but it's going to be a small shooting area with multiple people in a fast paced environment, so I suspect that they are discouraged.

@Dave - if you can make that work, go for it! ;)
@Matthew - the images are yours for use in your portfolio.

This is my first Avs game. Woo hoo!

As of tonight, the expensive club seats are no longer available. I bought my tickets in the nosebleed section.

    Karen,

What will be our usage rights on the photos we take during the event? Can we use them in our portfolios?

I know we are not allowed to bring our own flash units, however, can I assume we can trigger the pepsi center lighting pods with our pocket wizards since this is a special event?

Shooting pro hockey is one of my photography lifetime goals. This takes me a step closer to that. Looking forward to this experience.
