The Rose Garden and Pea Patch Community Garden

TIME TO PHOTOGRAPH ROSES!  The Littleton War Memorial Rose Garden is a garden that has every color, type, size etc. of rose you can think of!!  In full bloom it is AMAZING to say the least.  In the mornings, most of the garden is shaded by a big Cottonwood Tree AND the sprinklers have gone off earlier and make for some fabulous rose shots with water drops.  Next door to the Rose Garden is the Pea Patch, a local community garden, that has many sunflower plants etc, and they were gracious enough to let us in, if we stayed on the paths, to photograph the gardens.

I have spent quite a few early mornings and evening photographing in these 2 places, so I am sure we will do this more than once.  The garden isn't huge, so I am limiting this shoot to 30 people, so we aren't on top of one another scrambling for space.

I have driven by the Garden several times in the past couple of weeks, and the rose bushes are coming along, but very few blooms yet. So hopefully, a month from now, there will be lots of full blooms and buds to take pictures of!  I will keep everyone updated!

Sometimes I think you almost need a 1st asst. or someone to assist. Otherwise you need 16 hands if there is any kind of breeze.

There is 2 different ways you can post photos. 1) at the top of this event there's a link "Post Photos". 2) You can also navigate to the album by clicking on "Photos" in the navigation bar at the top. If you do this, just look for the album named after this even. You then just upload your images from your hard drive.

Have fun showing off your work. If you want to comment on other people's work please do so. Enjoy!

That's a great idea! I have to go show houses at 10 so I can't make it, but I bet others will join you!

I was thinking last night, after we have spent a couple of hours in the garden, that we go have coffee or breakfast somewhere and see the photos we got. There is a McDonald's close by, that has a nice little patio where we could go hang out and grab a cup of coffee and breakfast for those who are interested. Who's game?

Hi David-darn, too late!! Although its spoken for, any chance on trying it for a few shots?? I'm considering buying a macro and this would help make my decision.

If anyone needs/would like to shoot some macro I have a 85mm nikkor-micro DX that I can lend. Just let me know so I can bring it.

I went by the Rose Garden yesterday, and with all the rain we got last week, the Gardens are looking FANTASTIC! Looking forward to shooting on Sunday!
