Yes, we took an entire month to figure out how to organize the Front Range Photography Meetup. As you may know, the Lone Tree Photography Club assumed leadership of this Meetup Group in the beginning of the year. We are so excited about the opportunity to meet new people who share our passion for photography.
The first order of business is to put the Monthly Photo Contest back on track. So, as of today, February 1, 2012, Alex Santiago will be running the contest. Alex will be adhering to a monthly schedule, expect to hear from him on the 1st of each month. He will be announcing the theme and deadlines for voting.
If you wish to participate in the Monthly Contest, there is an annual fee of $10. This fee will be collected via Paypal on the Meetup site. Right now there is no Paypal set up, it will be there on February 15th so look for it then.
Each contest will have First, Second and Third place winners. First Place winner will receive unlimited bragging rights and be given 24-hours to designate the theme for the following month. Why 24-hours? We need to keep the contest moving forward, so the announcement can be made in a timely manner.
Winners of each month's contest will be automatically entered into the Year End Contest and eligible to win cash prizes and be entered into the Front Range Hall of Fame for all eternity!
Another departure from past contests, although we have a theme we are not requiring entries to submit images taken only during that month's time frame. You may choose to seek out a fresh new image or raid your archives, either way we want to see your best work.
The Monthly Contest is a great way to present your photos, comment on others and get to meet new people. We hope you will participate.
Please expect a Meetup announcement from Alex Santiago soon. He will be naming the theme for February.
Can anyone guess what it might be?
