Announcing a new Meetup for The Denver Digital Photography Meetup Group!
What: 2009 September Photo Assignment - Colorado History
When: September 30,[masked]:00 PM
Price: $20.00 per person per year
Denver, CO 80202
Please read these rules thoroughly - I have made some significant changes since last month's assignment.
Mike Berenson won the August assignment themed "Transportation". Besides bragging rights Mike got to choose the theme for the September 2009 assignment. His choice is: Colorado History
Normally the assignment begins after I post the topic because the idea is to capture your image with the topic in mind, and not to find an image you already took to fulfill the theme. However since I was late posting the topic and we are in the middle of a holiday weekend, I am back dating the assignment. :)
The assignment began Friday September 4th and will end on Wednesday September 30th at midnight. If you would like e-mail reminders of the deadline, please RSVP. You are under no obligation to complete an image if you do RSVP however. Participating in the assignment is FREE
! Ignore the PayPal link in the upper right corner.Rules:
- For a photo to be eligible for the exhibition, it must have been taken by you between September 4th and September 30th of 2009.
- Images must be sized no larger than 1024 pixels on its longest side.
- You are only allowed to submit one image. You cannot have an exhition photo and a contest photo.
- You retain ALL rights to your image.
- Your image shall not be obscene or contain, pornography, child pornography, or photographs of unclothed person(s); Section 4.2 (e) of the Meetup Terms of Service Agreement
- EXIF data must be available on your image.
Add your image to the 2009 September Assignment photo album prior to midnight on Wednesday September 30th. Do NOT
add a title to your photo! Your image should be strong enough to stand on its own without the assistance of a title or caption.Changes:
Prior to this the contest entries used to be anonymous to help maintain objectivity in the voting. However the meetup has grown so large that I don't believe this is an issue any longer. I still ask that you do not "promote" your entry into the contest to attract votes. This does not preclude you from posting your image on any other photo sharing website however.Contest Entry:
If you have made a donation to help fund this meetup anytime in the last year, your photo in the album will be considered a contest entry instead of an exhibition photo. To read more about how the donations are used, please checkout the contest information page
. To confirm whether you have donated in the appropriate time period, send an e-mail to Karen. To make a donation, click the PayPal link in the upper right corner of this listing.Questions:
If you have any questions on whether something is an appropriate photo for this assignment, please post your question in the Message board thread for this month's assignment. Since this is Scott's topic, he is the final arbiter of what is/is not appropriate for this theme. If you have question about the assignment or contest in general, please e-mail one of the organizers.
