From Italy to Poland! Off we go to Café Polonez!! Jeść!!

The holidays are coming!!!! And this may be the last dinner meetup of 2013 (I have a brunch place in mind....details to come).

I have tried to eat at Café Polonez on several occasions, but I made the mistake of not making a reservation, and as a result I was too impatient to wait in line. Yes, there is ALWAYS a line when I stop by. Arghhh. That said, I am one those suckers that believes that if there is a line, then it must be good. In fact, I have been known to get in a line just because I had to know what all the fuss was about. I am not kidding, I have lined up with zero clue what it was that I was lining for.

But don't fret my friends, I have finally learned my lesson and got us reservations.

It is never a good idea to look at images of food when you are starving. I want to stick my hand into my computer screen and grab myself a pierogi or 2 or 10.

So here are the deets....

Meetup Etiquette:

If you RSVP “yes” and change your mind about attending, please update your RSVP.

Those who RSVP “yes” are expected to show up.

You are expected to be at the event on time. In situations where you are late and the restaurant is full, your seat will be given away and not held, so please be on-time.

Attendance will be taken at all events and “no shows” will be tracked.

A person may be removed from the group for repeatedly being a “no show”.

A person who changes their RSVP to “no” with less than 3 hours before the start of an event without a good reason will be considered a “no show”.

A person who just briefly shows up at the event but does not stay at the restaurant for the meal will still be considered a “no show”.

See you soon!!

I am going to try and replicate some of the dishes as they were very functional. I felt very close to the culture and as it is quite clear I am part Polish. ;)
Thanks to all for such a wonderful and informative evening?

    Do zobaczenia wkrótce:)

Thank you so much to all those that came out tonight! Big portions and big personalities. Can't ask for anything better! I was in love with my schnitzel. Yum! I know that it was a large group tonight and I did not get to talk to all of you as much as I wanted to. But I am really looking forward to having the opportunity to do so in the near future. :) Take care guys and see you soon!

I'm SOOOOOOO excited!!! I finally get to eat a Perogie! You will all be there to witness my growth from boy to man! Now, I will need the assistance of an experienced perogie purchaser to help me decide which perogie I should devour. See you all tonight :-)

Homemade perogies are far superior to the supermarket kind.

I ate once at Nak Won Korean Restaurant at 5594 Yonge Street, just steps south of the Finch subway station, on the west side. If you want cheap, this place has CHEAP!!! And they also have table BBQ if you want to watch your food cook. And I love it! I'm going there with another group on Friday January 19, but we can have our own date!

You all enjoy! I checked the menu and I can't wait to try the goulash. I used to have it at this dessert shop near my parents' house. Hungarian/polish goulash...whatever...try it.

Enjoy. European cuisine is among the best. One does get tired of the standard "burger and fries" that can be bought at just about every neighborhood in the country.

Sorry I had to change it to no. The cold weather is biting to my skin these days and it bothers me, and it's too long a walk for me to get to the restaurant from Bloor subway station or walking after getting off the Dundas St West streetcar. If live in the Yonge & Finch area and if anyone lives nearby and also driving and doesn't mind if I ride along then I'll change it to "yes."

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
