Dinner @ WHIPPOORWILL

Recently named both Best New Restaurant and Best Burger over $10 by NOW Magazine, The Whippoorwill Restaurant & Tavern seems to be doing many things right. From its cozy, retro/vintage decor, friendly service, to bar manager Japhet Bower's artfully crafted cocktails and chef Tyler Cunningham's globally inspired comfort plates, it's no surprise why this Bloordale restaurant is currently one of the most talked about restaurants in the city.

RSVPs open tonight February[masked] at 11:00pm!!

Meetup Etiquette:

If you RSVP “yes” and change your mind about attending, please update your RSVP.

Those who RSVP “yes” are expected to show up.

You are expected to be at the event on time. In situations where you are late and the restaurant is full, your seat will be given away and not held, so please be on-time.

Attendance will be taken at all events and “no shows” will be tracked.

A person may be removed from the group for repeatedly being a “no show”.

A person who changes their RSVP to “no” with less than 3 hours before the start of an event without a good reason will be considered a “no show”.

A person who just briefly shows up at the event but does not stay at the restaurant for the meal will still be considered a “no show”.

PLEASE PLEASE tip! Sadly in the past people have not tipped or paid what they owed. I realize that one bill is a pain in the butt and tedious, but with such a large group, this will often be the case. In good faith I am trusting that you will add the tax and tip to your total and pay accordingly. If you are unhappy with an aspect of your meal or service, please let me know in advance so that I can do my best to rectify it with the restaurant. It's rude to not pay what you owe.

See you soon!!!

The food was delicious. I loved the duck liver pate, it tasted very "home made", almost like the one my grandmother used to make. I liked the gnocchi but I L-O-V-E-D the braised meat sauce that they came in. The desserts were quite good, but not as good as the dishes. Good to meet new people, but didn't had a chance to chat with everyone.

For my 1st dinner Event w/the Group we had a great turnout of 9 people; I along with at least 2 others ordered the Whippoorwill burger which came with very crispy wedges, both of which we all agreed was very delicious. The burger was also messy but a very big mouthful to eat. Those who ordered other dishes also seemed to really enjoy them. Thanks for Organizing, Itanni; I too had a great time, met some people I didn’t know and it was nice to chat with both them and those I’d previously met. I’m looking forward to my next Meetup w/the Group (Dim Sum).

That was delicious!!! The Dan Dan Mein was so spicy but soooo good!!! Yes, it made me tear up and smoke came out of my ears, but it was delish!!! The Butterscotch dessert? Should be prohibited and banned for being too sinfully delicious!!! BTW, the conversation about BBQing and meat? I took out a 16 oz. piece of Beef Filet Mignon to grill tonight. I don't care if I have to get a Coastguard icebreaker to get to my grill, I'm cooking with fire tonight!!!
