That sound! The irresistible sound of soaring trumpets, robust trombones, wailing saxophones and swinging rhythm section…the sound of the Jazz Consortium Big Band. The Jazz Consortium Big Band is a swinging, rocking, roaring 17-piece Chicago big band that celebrates the best Swing and Jazz-Rock big band music.

Since its inception in 1975, the Jazz Consortium Big Band has featured well-known music from such iconic big bands as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller, and contemporary big bands like Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson and Thad Jones-Mel Lewis, plus original compositions by band members.

Led by saxophonist Roy Vombrack, this Chicago area big band plays a variety of Jazz, Swing and Jazz-Rock music that appeals to all ages. The Jazz Consortium Big Band performs at Durty Nellie's every month in their huge performance space. We will have a table on the main floor.

Doors open at 5:00, Music at 6:00
