Doesn't look like this is going to happen.

I used to hunt. I have not hunted in about 20 years due to disability. But I could use some land navigation teaching. I knew the land where I hunted. But I am not familliar with this area. And need to get to know some tricks someone else knows. Jax

I am knowledgeable enough that unless someone better qualified steps up I can instruct, need a location, classroom and then a decent size wooded area if anyone has a suggestion

This class needs an instructor, from the looks of things. ;-)

Depending on the date and time I would love to attend, I could use a good brush up on my land nav skills

I feel comfortable teaching this subject. Does everyone planning to attend own a map, compass and protractor? I can provide protractors and lend someone a compass....
As for location, I suggest the capitol forest.

So its an activity that can be done inside first then outside later. I think this skill should be practiced during all seasons. We happen to be in a state that allows us the opportunity to hit them all. Does anyone want to make this idea a front runner?

It's been awhile...the Army uses Tenino WA maps for their classroom land nav because it has almost all the terrain features that we learned on one map. It's good to sit and learn land nav (compass, map reading, terrain), then to go outside and practice.

The Olympics on a clear day is a perfect location for land navigation. You can really see all the terrain features. I'd love to help out.
