Ropes, Webbing, & Knots

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Cordage is basic survival equipment. Knowing how to create knots makes it useful. Also, knowing how to tie proper knots preserves the strength of the cordage and it's length.

I can teach some basic knots that I find very useful.

Update: I think I've got a sponsor for teaching this group (or team teaching...) and I'm following up with them.

being a navy vet I should be an expert on knots. Unfortunately that is no the case.

The four knots I use the most are more based on climbing than nautical... I use the trucker's hitch, the figure 8, the double fisherman's and the clove hitch.

I'm down! I checked out the spool tool, that's a great looking product, I want to hear more.

Thanks, I just had dinner with Gino, the creator / founder of the company. He's on board with having one of his Northwestern distributors host this meetup so we'll see how that goes.

Very rusty on my knots. This would be great. Any chance this might happen before the end of 2013?

Haven't forgotten about everyone, but I've been absolutely slammed on and and off duty. I've picked up some retired rope and webbing for knot practice. I'll come up with a date and location in the next couple days. Thanks for your patience.
