America's Stonehenge

  • May 17, 2014 · 7:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This is the actual reschedule, please change your RSVP if you can't make it.

America's Stonehenge is a very unique park , it contains some ruins that I believe would be fantastic for light painting. This is a near-full moon night, hence, it will be very easy to get around and the moon will assist in lighting up the structures and creating some haunting shadows. Our lights will brighten the shadows and add colored accents.

Here is a link for some images on the web to give you an impression on what to find. I hope you like Lamas. Maybe we can make them ghosts of ancient occupants or something  :-)

Here is another link with daytime pictures, nicely showing the site.

The park is willing to host us for a night, but they require a $300 fee for 10 people to do so (+$30 for each addtl person), hence the requirement for at least 10 people (and no more than 15) and a $30 fee. Please sign up by paying the fee but there will only be refunds if we cancel or reschedule.

Suggested equipment: camera, tripod, remote/intervalometer and wide angle lenses. Lots of colored light painting paraphernalia! Let's make this place look special!

Please be on time for this event, as we will be let in as a group!

Fun and interesting shoot. Very different place to do light painting. Couldn't have asked for better weather conditions: no bugs, no mud, no wind, no rain, no clouds. Lovely evening.

Folks: this meetup *WILL* happen. Please dress for muddy grounds and bring lots of bug repellant. Don't forget the light painting gadgets. Please be on time at 7:30 at the gate.

Forecast changed to all clear. Looks like we will be doing star trails over ruins. :-)
