You want APIs? Google's got em by the fistful.
If you've been itching to build something in a fast-paced, time-crunched environment, to show off your skills or to flesh out your resume, we want you to come to this event, laptop in-hand.
Let's set the stage. You've got 8 hours, free project hosting, a collection of 14 other talented people to work with, (possibly) some really amazing hardware to play with, and a really snazzy prize (to be announced) to compete for.
We're doing five (count 'em, five.) hackathons per year, with two more after this to be schedule at a later date. This is our first this year and first as a group.
Who can come? Participation is limited to 15 due to time, scope, and the size of the space we've got. We're looking for passionate people of any skill level who play well with others to come out and build something awesome with Google APIs.
What are the rules? Pretty simple:
• Projects and pages should be hosted using Google App Engine and Google Sites. Both are completely free and work great.
• All projects should be libre software or open-source and preferably hosted on GitHub (BitBucket and others work fine too)
• All projects must use a Google API in a fresh and unique way
• Judging of the winner will be by popular vote by other participants
