Micro-Build with LEGO Bricks! Manhattan Beach Ages 6-12

We are now offering Trish's Microbuilds in the South Bay!

Note: This class is at the Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach.

Study the effect of scale with a teeny tiny microbuild.  Using just a few pieces, the participant will create tiny vehicles and a tiny building.  LEGO minifigs are giants in this realm!  Includes a take home vehicle and building kit.

Note from Trish: This is going to be so much fun!  In addition to a tiny automobile and a tiny plane... there will be a group build of a micro-building.

I have found an image of a building that is multi-story and very unusual in shape.  The participants will each use the building for inspiration, and create some part of the building - they will adjust the colors to their own tastes.  The tricky part will be trying to put the parts together at the end into a fantastical, one of a kind micro-building!

It should be huge fun!  I am so looking forward to this!

Micro-Build with LEGO Bricks!

Ages 6-12

Thursday, April 25, 10:30am-12:30pm (feel free to send a snack with your child)

Cost: $26/student

No POs will be accepted for this class.

Instructor: Ms. Patricia Tsoiasue is a system engineer and extremely involved in the creative community of Long Beach.  She is working to bring a maker space to Long Beach and we are thrilled she is doing classes for our students.  Her projects include sewing projects (softies and ugly soft creatures with eyes that glow), mechanical experiences, electronics with the Arduino - a robotics computing platform and LEGO bricks, a creative medium that she loves!

This is a drop-off class if parent and child are comfortable.  Parent may stay to help and/or observe.

To sign up one child, RSVP as yourself; to sign up two children, RSVP +1, etc.

Feel free to pay online or bring payment to class.  Cash/check ok.  Please make checks out to Patricia Tsoiasue.

Let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you!

This was our first class and Ryan loved it! He said he DEFINITELY wants to do it again and has already asked several times when is the next class. We can do a Friday class too.

While Logan didn't do much building...he was FULL of questions for Patricia and I LOVED IT. He very rarely goes to another adult for guidance and direction...THANK YOU Patricia for your patience! I agree with Rachael, a Friday class would be awesome! Thanks again Cindy and Patricia for organizing and facilitating such fantastic events!

Really awesome. I hope that maybe in the future it will be on either a Monday or Friday as after this month we will have Spanish on Thursdays. :(

Hi Cindy! My son is just shy of 5 years old, but builds LEGOs for hours on end. I just know he would love this event. I realize he's a bit young, but would it be okay if I stayed to help him?

Hello Debora, yes, if you could stay and help your son, that would be perfect. Thank you so much!

Debating about this due to drive time and over scheduling. It looks like something my kids will really love though. If you do another one will it be at this location or somewhere else?

I would like to express my greatest appreciation to Cindy and GEE for believing! Manhattan Beach is the home of The Comic Bug, which is thrilled to have us. Mike and Jun are great friends and we hope that you will want to come back for more fun content!

Cindy, will you be scheduling another class soon? I have so much going on the next two weeks that I'm not sure I can manage to add one more thing but I've been wanting to do the Lego class for quite a while!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
