Middle School English Session 2
Poetry Madness Countdown, playing with language, group and individual writing projects, classic readings, and contemporary literature are a few of the things we will explore in class. Students will learn how to analyze literature, how to write creatively, and how to write essays. Readings include a plethora of poetry, a Shakespearean play, short stories galore, and a novella if time permits. No textbook required. Middle School English - Afternoon
Ages: 11-13 years old
8 weeks: 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10 (no class on 11/26)
Cost: $145/student, may be paid monthly

Erin Chianese is a teacher, published author, and former homeschooling mom to 2 daughters who have graduated from college. Her goal as a teacher of English is to share her love of writing and reading with students. Her philosophy is to respect each student's writing content and process, to try to create a safe place to share writing, and to acknowledge each students' gifts. This is a drop-off class, but as always, parents are invited to stay and observe.
To sign up one child, please RSVP as yourself; to sign up two children, RSVP +1 guest, etc.
If you are not using charter school funds, please bring payment to the first day of class or pay online.
This location has a playground where parents and younger siblings may wait. Trampoline is off-limits, though.
