Now that spring is here and the evenings are starting to get lighter it's time for us to do a slightly longer hike than normal. We're going to head to a very nice part of Surrey for a hike from Milford to Godalming.
Godalming's only 2 miles from Milford but we're going to get there via the scenic route: 10.5 miles through woodlands and scenic isolated villages with a few hills along the way to keep things interesting. We'll stop for a picnic lunch and a visit to the pub in the lovely little village of Hascombe which is home to various celebrities and Russian oligarchs (maybe we'll see them in the village pub).
After lunch we'll head towards Godalming crossing through the very scenic Winkworth Arboretum before heading along the river Wey to a nice pub in the old part of Godalming for some well earned food and a drink or two.
We'll meet at Waterloo station at 9:45 and take the train at 10:15, arriving in Milford at 11:05. At the end of the hike we should arrive in Godalming by 17:00.
The price of the hike is £13.10. This covers:
- Group save return ticket to Milford (£9.10) - Godalming is on the way back from Milford.
- Organiser's fee (£4)
If you're no longer able to attend, please change your RSVP to 'not going'. If someone takes your place you'll get a full refund to your Paypal account. If nobody takes your place you won't get a refund.
There are 36 places for people travelling together on groupsave tickets from Waterloo. There are an extra 4 places for people traveling independently either by car or from a different station. If you'd like to take one of these places, please email me and I'll add you to the list - in this case you just need to pay the £4 organiser's fee.
