This is one our nicest hikes, so now that we're approaching Summer and hopefully some nice weather it seems like a good time to do it again.
We’ll follow a circular route from Hastings, walking along the sea front before heading up hill along the cliff tops with a great view of the English Channel. This is probably one of the harder routes we've done with lots of ups and downs as we follow the cliff top path. We'll definitely break into a sweat, but it'll be worth it for the spectacular views that we'll see.
About an hour into the hike we’ll stop for a picnic lunch overlooking the cliff tops. After lunch we'll continue on to the village of Fairlight Cove where we'll stop in the pub for a drink and a toilet break.
After this we'll head away from the cliffs and follow a route back to Hastings through some hills and woodlands before we finally arrive at the end of the hike. Once we're back in Hastings we'll finish at an old fashioned pub for some well earned food and a drink or two.
We'll meet at 9:30 at London Bridge station outside the ticket office and take the train at 9:53 arriving in Hastings at 11:18. I'll be buying tickets in advance for the group, so all you need to do is turn up and collect your tickets from me. We'll head to the platform at 9:45, so please make sure that you've arrived by this time as we can't wait if you're late.
The price of the hike is £19.55. This includes:
Group save return train tickets to Hastings (£15.55)
Organiser's fee (£4) - the first 10 people to sign up only pay for the train tickets
If you change your RSVP to 'no' and somebody takes your place, you'll get a refund to your Paypal account. If nobody takes your place, you won't get a refund. No shows won't get a refund.
There are up to 4 places for people who want to travel by car or via a different train route (email me if you'd like to take one of these 4 places). In this case you'll just need to pay the £4 organiser's fee on the day.
