How did you find us?

I'm the group creator! (have used Meetup before for other purposes)

What are you looking forward to with Google Fiber?

Upload speeds higher than 5 Mbps (WAY higher), probably lower latency than TWC, and lower prices for gigabit than I currently pay for one-twentieth of that speed. Heck, Google Fiber TV is so good that I might even give it a try, despite never having had pay TV in my life. Probably not though... Last but not least, I won't have to SSH tunnel to Dallas, or block IP ranges, to get HD YouTube to play flawlessly. Somehow my 50M TWC connection can't deliver even 3 Mbps to YouTube...and this will fix that.

I'm a web developer who works out of his apartment to build solid, custom web apps for a double-handful of clients. I've been watching the GFiber rollout in Kansas City and am excited that Austin will be getting gigabit fiber from Google as well.
