I'm guessing you've tried at least 2 client computers just to ensure this is a server issue.
Have you made changes to the conf? restored from backup? seeing any errors (suexec log, apache, or message)
things to check:
LoadModule php5_module modules/libphp5.so
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html
user/group for suexec

Thought I would post to this list as everything I've tried so far isn't working.
One of my servers runs Apache2 with php and I'm in the process of trying to configure suexec into apache2. Well, its not going that well. And all of a sudden this morning Apache stopped parsing php.
It now tries to download and/or display the php file.
I've checked my config according to the rules and the knowledge gleaned from the web on this topic including a reboot of the Ubuntu 9.04 server.
Still not parsing.
I even restored ALL the apache config files from /etc/apache2/ down from last Saturday's backup just to be sure the configs were where they were were prior to any changes being made.
Of course, even with this done it still is not parsing the php files.
I'm sure that php5 is being loaded in the include modules section and apache2 -V shows that it is installed and enabled.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what else I can look for? I'm kind of at a brain-dead loss now.
Thanks - Bob :-((
