Thought you'd all be interested in this note I saw in the local Palisade newspaper today about flag replacement for that flag :-) https://www.dropbox.com/s/j2h2p0qumxw9ird/2013-06-27%2006.56.55.jpg

Looks like they need to read up on the dos and don't an all weather flag is required
Ramon - apparently it's less about protocol and more about practical :). The high winds up there apparently shredded your flag already! WOW!!!

Frank - oh well, as far as I am concerned they can put their tiny indoor flag on the pole themselves. conversation OVER
No worries. I spoke to Tom (the flag guy) last night. He really appreciated what we had done, but said our flag was already in shreds. He said the bigger they are, the easier they shred. Away, he wants us to coordinate with him going forward so we can help out with the replacement of the flag for major holidays. Sounds like a good reason to ride :-)

maybe they would donate the flag and we could put it up? Sounds good to me.
I will go for a ride but they can do the flag part.
That's pretty much the deal. He gets the flags from the VA hospital from about $18.
What a great ride! Thanks Ramon for getting the flag, and everyone for going up there and helping put a new "all weather" version up!

he's out of town - can we move the time to 6??
American Legion has a collection box for old flags at Ace Hardware in Palisade. We can easily start at 6 and be back by 8:30 or 9:00, after all it is the longest day of the year!! Thank you Jesus!!

Oddly - I read up on flag disposal and I was surprised to find out the "recommended" procedure was to give it to the American Legion rather than do it yourself. That's probably good enough! We must take a large group shot though - will be awesome!
Entertaining the idea of leaving at 5:15 to do kilowatt (backwards) and meet everyone at the flag or Michelin man hill
HAMMER DOWN !
hey where is Randy
That time seems a bit early. It's still going to be 90 at that time. How long does that ride take?
concur - can we start at 6? Might give Joe the chance to come too.
Oooh! I'm liking the sound of this. In Charlotte thru Thursday but might be back and up for this one! Call me maybe baybe.

hope you can make it Stephen
The flag we are taking is in a sealed bag. We will put the old one in the bag and take it down with us.

Don - Ramone posted that he had one. We can take the old flag with us and dispose of it properly in a safe respectful way back in town.
I suspect there is a ban on doing that anyway with the current fire danger.
Rich - that ride is known as "push-a-lot" :)

Has anyone got the flag yet? Also, we need to make sure someone has a lighter or matches so we can burn the old one.
Killowatt backwards???? Lol jk
