I grew up in Gunnison but have *never* ridden there. Let's ride Hartman Rocks and everything in the vicinity.

Wow, had a great time. Hartman's Rock has an enormous trail system, much larger than 18 Road or Lunch Loops. But there's a much greater diversity of trails, from pure green to double black diamond that is higher level than I'm about to do.
We had a blast riding all over, camping (wonderful campsites to be had even though Labor Day Weekend), and painting.. and hanging out, and buckwheat pancakes for breakfast.
Hope we can get more out next time!

It sounds like Hartman Rocks has trails for *everybody* at all levels.
There is primitive camping up there which should be available with no competition. The only toilets are at the lower trailhead (not allowed to camp in that area). We would need to bring our own water supply of course (we have 2 big water containers).
The KOA campground is right near there, and would provide bathrooms and stuff. Two tents and 1 vehicle cost $24/night. They don't seem worried about having enough room.

It would be great to have people come who aren't into big tech rides. We can find the easiest trails (and maybe sneak away for one harder one). Spouses and kids welcome!
I just changed this back a week (to Labor Day Weekend). I hope that has a chance with people... The previous weekend conflicted with some personal things and the Tour of the Valley as well.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
