Fruita Fat Tire Weekend! (MTB)

Demo Bikes and (Saturday) COPMOBA Breakfast, 7-8-9am:

You basically have to be in line at Civic Center Park at 7am to get a bike. The vendors open at 8am. I think the free (donation for trails) breakfast starts at 8.

Ride Plan:

* Friday 3pm: Moore Fun (Advanced)
* Friday Palisade Rim - Cancelled in favor of Moore Fun

* Saturday 9:30am Lions/Troy Built/Mack Ridge. Whoever goes can add on an afternoon ride if wanted. (Moderate tech and exertion)
* Sunday 9:30am CANCELLED Western Rim (Moderate)

And of course... Groups can split up and we can do other things too. I just wanted to put some structure out there. Anybody is welcome to post any ride!

The idea is that several of us will get free demo bikes each day (bring pedals, driver's license) at 7am at the Fruita Civic Center Park, then optionally Saturday feast at the COPMOBA benefit breakfast (donation).

The Rocky Mountain Peace Frogs booth at the park is kind of a meeting place for folks getting ready to get out to the rides Saturday and Sunday, so if you need to find your buddies Steve Fullerton may be able to direct you to them.

I was able to attend two amazing women's camps held by Alison Gannett and learned so much. Friday did her skills camp, riding over parking curbs, piled up logs, across a bridge and teeter-totter, then finally learning to jump my bike off a ramp. All followed by a six hour trail ride on Saturday to put all the skills to practice. Learned that I need different shoes to keep my feet on the pedals (came off the pedals while trying to go up a ledge...ouch as I hit the handle bars at least I didn't go over the handle bars).

It was carnage this morning as 3 vendor tents were destroyed in a big gust. Lori had a double tent that the wind took weights, apparel, and racks and flipped both tents into two others. We called it a day ourselves around 1pm.

Was really looking forward to riding with you guys this weekend, but couldn't get out Thursday and the weather forecast for the weekend is sucky enough that I can't justify the 10 hours of driving.

I hope those weather forecasters are COMPLETELY WRONG, and that you guys have an awesome couple more days of rides!

Hey all. Just got in from the initial set up and as usual lots of bike companies in town. Donna and I will be right next to Specialized's trailer and tent. WD40 is there with a new line of products for bikes. Hope you all have a big ole time and the weather stays exactly like it is now! Here is the current list of bike, bike related, and other companies coming to the Expo.

Saturday looks like the worst for it in the afternoon. Lets hope that the rain in the valley is somewhere other than the Expo and trails, so I vote Whitewater!

Woo-hoo, just got my Mtn bike back from the shop and a new lower rear triangle. Assuming I am freed up on Sunday let me know if anyone is going riding, pretty much anywhere. I have to leave on business Tuesday so I'm going to be crunched for free time but I have an itch that needs scratchin'!

Since there are so many of us going. Lets meet at Stephen Fullerton booth after you get you chosen bike. We then can decide on what ride to do.

As much as I like the idea and look forward to seeing you all don't rub it in too much that you're all all out riding while I am working. No word on my bike part yet so my steed remains on the sidelines. ;-( Just look for a tye dyed banner above the booth with a super cool frog on it.

Hey Grand Junction Cycle Paths! I registered for this a long time ago and I will definitely be there. But I wont be spending much time on the bike as Donna and I will be manning a booth and we invite all of you to stop by and see us. Just look for the coolest booth out there as we officially launch Rocky Mountain Peace Frogs featuring clothing, accessories, gifts, toys and other great items. I promise you will have a very good time. If you want to learn about our parent company and see some of the cool stuff we will have available please check Peace Frogs here:
