What we’re about
Here's our bucket list for planning. Have more ideas? Comment there!
Grand Junction Cyclepaths is for those who love to ride and enjoy riding with others. We do mountain biking and road biking at friendly levels. Unless otherwise stated in an event invitation, you can expect events to be no-drop events. Of course, it's up to you to make good choices about the level of the events you attend.
Everybody is welcome to suggest and host a meetup - just click the "Suggest a meetup" link and put in the details. Please make sure to give all the info people will need to understand the event and decide if it's right for them. Please review Suggestions for Event Hosts.

See all- Tower Arch and MoreNeeds location
This is a three-part adventure. First, we'll drive 18 miles south from Thompson Springs, UT and "sneak" into the northwest corner of Arches National Park. "Sneaking in" is perfectly legal; it just means we won't have to drive all the way to Moab, wait in line, or pay. We will take a three-mile incredibly beautiful hike to the magnificent Tower Arch, the most remote arch in the park. Next, we will look for (and hopefully hike) a short trail in the same area that will lead to the Dark Angel, a 150-foot tall sandstone formation. Last, we'll drive back to Thompson Springs and a bit northeast of there and do the 1.5-mile Sego Canyon hike, where we will see pictograph and petroglyph panels from three different distinct peoples and time periods.
Total drive time is about two hours each way. Hiking 4.5-6.5 miles. The dirt roads south of Thompson Springs are mostly smooth and easy to travel as long as they're not wet.
Meet at Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita to organize carpooling and caravans. Bring a lunch, snacks, and water. No dogs since we'll be in the national park.
