Hello. I'm Dave from Buffalo. Excited to find a local group like this one. I'm a Gay Christian, and in Buffalo that is very rare. I group for support, encouragement, and people with similiar views on life would be a great uplift.
I've been a Gay since I was in 3rd grade. I've been Christian since I was in 5th grade. I am now a young adult. Up until recently, I believed that either the Celibate life or the life in the closet was the appropriate life for me. Homesexuality was something I was "struggling with". After years of this "struggle", I realize I'm okay just as who I am. This is a major weight lifted off of my shoulders. I have been blessed with a family and a Church Leadership that is in support of me (but none of them are gay). I'm joining this group because some fellow people in my shoes would be a huge support.
Friendship, encouragement, Networking. Possibly supporting each other to work to promote our message. A likeminded bf would be nice too (not sure if this is appropriate here, but hey its the truth lol)
Before I was out, when I told a girl who was hoping I'd ask her out, her response was "But you can't be both gay and Christian". Hmmmmm. I know I can't change my sexuality, so does that mean I can't be a Christian? I know that Christ's Salvation is for everyone....and this Question "Do you agree that you can be both a Christian and GBLT?", is one which I've struggled with for over 15 years. Not struggling anymore.......My answer to this question is YES. I only hope others can agree.
Hi Dave - I am glad you will be going to the PRIDE Parade. It will be nice to see you there. Again, I am so sorry that I feel short of your expectations and that we were unable to meet. I wish that things had worked out differently. I still would like to meet with you. I owe you a coffee and a conversation and a HUGE thank you and many many apologies. Perhaps when you have had some time to forgive me you might see the possibility to talk to me in the future. Peace, Kim
Hi Dave - I was unable to make you organizer - so I made you a co-organizer - thank you for offering. Should you change your mind, please let me know. In the meantime, feel free to post events and such. Kim
