The Regional Planning Commission and Jefferson Parish wants residents input in formulating a bicycle master plan. The first public meeting on the issue is Monday night at 6:30 at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 West Napoleon Ave., Metairie.
A second meeting will be Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the West Bank Regional Library, 2751 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey.
Planners involved in the process want residents to bring their ideas for where they would like to see bike paths and lanes. Planners also want to get an idea as to where cyclists currently ride.
The goal is to make biking accessible for residents for recreation as well as an alternate form of transportation, officials said.
