This beautiful costal walk starts with a rewarding climb over the cliff tops to Fairlight Cove, the trail descends to Cliff end where it levels. Following an old military path we pass through Winchelsea, crossing Rye Marsh to Rye where we you can either join us for a drink or take the train home.
Meeting point, 08.30 London Cannon Street, station outside Paper Chase. We will be taking the 08.58 train arriving in Hastings 11.00 journey time 2hrs.

Walk details, This is a moderate walk with four hills on well maintained paths. 19km 11.8 miles.
The start of this walk takes us along the Hastings seafront,we walk past the castle to join the Saxon Shore Way. We ascend to the top of the cliffs where we will have views out to the sea and over Hastings old town and it's castle.
Entering woodland we drop down into Ecclesbourne Glen before ascending again into the Hastings Country Park. The path now undulates before descending to the beach at Fairlight Cove where we will stop for lunch.
Continuing along the coast we join the Royal Military Canal Path which takes us in land to Winchelsea. We continue to follow the canal to cross the Castle Water Nature Reserve and walk past Camber Castle.
The walk now follows the River Brede into Rye where we will have an option of stopping for a drink and food or heading home.

Group train tickets. Group tickets are normally available for groups of 3 or 4 adults traveling together. As you arrive at the meeting place I will send you in groups of four to the ticket office. Please arrive early as it cannot be guaranteed that we will have complete groups of 3 or 4. In these circumstances e.g. 2 persons or less you will unfortunately have to pay full fare.
