This trail takes us from Princes Risborough along the Ridgeway national trail, through grounds of Chequers, the country retreat of the Prime Minister, over Combe Hill the highest point in the Chiltern hills to Wendover where we take the train back to London
Meeting point We will be meeting 09.00 at London Marylebone station, outside WH Smiths, we will be taking the 09.36 train to Princes Risborough arriving at 10.08 journey time 32 mins.
Cost £9.85pp for four people travelling together. I cannot guarantee you will be in a group of four see below. Organiser fee £5 total £14.85.
Walk details 14.9km 9.3 miles the walk is of moderate difficulty with some hills on good paths.

Leaving Princes Risborough Station we follow a lane and join the Ridgeway National Trail. A steep ascent takes us to Whiteleaf Hill and the Whiteleaf Cross which was carved in the hillside by the Angalo Saxons to commemorate defeat over the Danes.
Following a ridge down hill through Giles Wood we enter the hamlet of lower Cadsden. We make our way over Pulpit hill, once an Iron age hill fort to Chequers Knap, the trail enters the grounds of Chequers an Elizebethan manor house and now the country retreat of the Prime Minister. Leaving the Ridgeway we climb through Goodmerhill Wood to Dunsmore where we turn North West to Coombe Hill at 257 meters the highest point in the Chilterns which is topped by the Boer War Memorial
here we have unparalleled views over the Vale of Aylesbury. A gradual descent takes us into Wendover where you can either join us for a drink and something to eat or take the train back to London.

Please arrive early as it cannot be guaranteed that we will have complete groups of 3 or 4. In these circumstances e.g. 2 persons or less you will unfortunately have to pay full fare
