GRADE: Intermediate/ advanced (due to the length) 23 km/ 14 miles, 592m ascent, 606m descent, 6.5 - 7 hr walking time, undulating footpaths and bridle ways.
This is a linear hike, starting at Oxted and finishing at Sevenoaks. It takes us through the beautiful Kent countryside, known as the "Garden of England" for its abundance of orchards and hop gardens. This is the season of the bluebells in bloom! We might be lucky to spot them.
From Oxted we follow the Greensand Way passing through woods and valleys in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with stunning views.
We then head to Chartwell, the principal residence of Churchill from 1924 until 1965, near Westerham. A close distance to the country house is a studio where we can be surprised by Churchill's painting skills. The apple orchard in this season is covered in white and pink blossom, while cherries bloom along the Top Terrace.
The entrance to the gardens and studio is £14 and payable there. If you are National Trust member the entrance is free. Don’t forget to bring your membership card with you.
We will spend approximately 45 min in Chartwell gardens to enjoy the natural beauty and have our lunch.
Leaving Chartwell we will climb to Horns Hill passing through Toy's Hill and Scords Wood, areas of beautiful scenery with splendid views. We will pass near Emmetts gardens, with breathtaking panoramic views over the Weald of Kent, following pathways through beautiful woodlands and grazed meadows as we make our way to Sevenoaks.
We finish our hike in a traditional pub at Sevenoaks, before taking our trains back home. Feel free to join us!

GRADE: Intermediate, 22km/ 14 miles, 460m ascent, 457m descent, 6-7hr walking time, undulating footpaths and bridleways.

This delightful hike passes us through the beautiful Kent countryside an area of outstanding natural beauty, with stunning views across the stour valley, and takes us through two of the prettiest villages in Kent, Wye and Chilham.

We climb out of Wye through Crundale and Warren Wood and walk through Chilmans Down where we have splendid views over the Stour Valley. We follow the Stour Valley Walk, passing through the neolithic long barrow of Julliberrie's grave.

Crossing the footbridge over the River Stour we arrive at Chilham, a beautiful little village with an iconic which has been used in many films.

The trail leads us past Chilham Castle, to join the Mountain Street path and enter King's Wood following a part of North Downs Way that offers us spectacular scenery and amazing views and carpets of stunning bluebells.

We finish our hike in a traditional pub with distinctive Kentish architecture at Wye, before taking our trains back home.

TRAINS: We will be taking the High-Speed Train at 09:07 changing at Ashford International and arriving in Wye at 09:56 journey time of 49 min.

GRADE: Beginner 17 km /10.5 miles, 270m ascent,approx 4.5 hrs walking time, riverside.

Join me to this hike in Chichester to enjoy the sea breeze and welcome the spring!
We will start at Chichester and finish our walk at West Wittering , where we can take the bus back to Chichester.
From Chichester we pick up the towpath on the Chichester ship canal until it joins the estuary at Birdham Marina. The trail follows the estuary and the Chichester Ship Channel. Joining the Lipchics coastal path we turn south to reach the sand spit of East Head where we have reaching views to Haling island and the Isle of Wight.
A 2 km walk along West Wittering beach takes us to a lane which heads inland to West Wittering village. Lanes and paths take us through tiny hamlets and picturesque villages.
From West Wittering we take the bus back to Chichester where we can have our well earned drinks and food in a traditional pub before taking the train back home.
MEETING POINT: 08:30 London Victoria train station, in front of the main train ticket office. Second meeting point will Chichester, outside the train station at 10:45, for the ones they want to make their own way there.
