Monkey minded, easily bored web app and services developer. I'm interested in Big Data as an way to learn statistics programming, and as a potential exit from the fickle and shallow world of commercial web apps.

What are your favorite programming languages?

Scheme, Lisp, Clojure (for fun) Ruby, Javascript (for a living) and, um, Emacs :P

What GPU applications are you interested in?

Big Data in any problem domain, but thinking of sentiment analysis, recommendations, bioinformatics and pretty much any academic research projects which seem worthwhile. Anything which seems interesting really.

Rate your experience with heterogeneous programming

None to speak of - I think of myself as a polyglot, but have never really cared much about the underlying architecture beyond early efforts writing in assembly language (when I was 11 on a Vic 20, and then in college on Motorola 6809 simulators).

What is your primary occupation?

Lead (and currently only) engineer on a newish web app and collection of related services for a US advertising company.
