Using Vagrant and Puppet to Set Up Development Environments

Web development has evolved rapidly in the last few years.  To keep up with these rapid developments, server architectures have become more complex.  As a result great increases in speed, reliability and scalability have been achieved.

However, these advances introduce big challenges for developers as it becomes quite difficult to set up a local environment that can emulate production.  In part this is because most developers use either Windows or OSX as development machines yet deploy to various Linux flavours often hosted in load balanced, multi-tiered cloud environments.  Another part of this problem is that developers often work in teams and having a consistent environment among team members can introduce further challenges.

In this talk, accomplished devops Marthinus Meyer will show you how to use Vagrant and Puppet to overcome these pains and easily set up a dev environment that can emulate complex production architectures without slowing down your workflow.
