June Front-end Dev Meetup

Doug Mays (@dougmays) will be presenting on CSS3 Regions and CSS3 Flexbox

Milan Landaverde (@mdaverde) will present on front-end web application testing (Selenium, PhantomJS, CasperJS, Unit testing, and more)

Group Discussion: What makes a great portfolio for a Front-end Developer? What do employers look for when evaluated potential hires. What do you look for?

More group discussion: I think it'd be cool to get shirts! Let's talk about it!

Even more group discussion: We'll also need to line up the next couple month's presentations.

As always, we'll be crossing the street and heading over to Stubbies for a few beers afterwards!

Is it possible to discuss what makes a great portfolio for today's Front-End Developer? What are employers looking for? Thanks

Matt, I have thought about what I wanted to do for a long time. My answer to that question is being a Designer/Frontend. I want to be able to take the designs I create and turn them into working tools, for others to use.

This months Meet-up was amazing! Doug provided us with an in depth look at Flexbox and box-sizing models. Milan opened my eyes to JavaScript Testing. The final discussion on portfolio's and what employers are looking for - made the night for me. I'm looking forward to next's Meet-up. Thank you to everyone I met yesterday.
