Seems like many of us reacted negatively to the undisclosed MLM pitch in the guise of an "opportunity". Replying "take me off the list" to hundreds iof people is equally annoying and inappropriate.
YOU and YOU alone control your Meetup settings. You and you alone can remove yourself from a mailing list (absent your dismissal by a disgruntled orgaznizer.) As an alternative, you can adjust your communications and privacy settings to receive a daily or weekly digest, or no emails at all, from any given group.
Seems like three improvements might be in order.
1) An active moderator who nips inappropriate posts in the bud.
2) A written policy statement of what people should and should not post (with a friendly reminder that replying to ALL is NOT a proper way to send personal communications to an individual member.)
3) A primer on how to use Meetup in general. These ideas have been done to death and we don't have to re-invent the wheel - just cut-and-paste from an existing source.
This is a really good group with much potential. Let's not mess it us, okay?
