It was nice meeting everyone and I'm glad it was helpful. We're both really excited for the next one.

It was really awesome and fun meeting and chatting, though perhaps this will now get me to start learning scripting, too :P

I got a lot out of it, sharing information with other people.

Thank you to all who participated, and especially to Danielle and Jim for organizing. I learned some great tips. Here's a tip I recently read about, but haven't explored much yet. Facebook offers a paid service called "Mobile App Install Ads". I believe these are advertisements that drive consumers to purchase apps. I'm not sure about the cost. https://developers.facebook.com/docs/tutorials/mobile-app-ads/. This tip was part of a bigger top-ten lists here: https://searchman.com/tutorials/?utm_source=SearchMan&utm_medium=SearchMan_email&utm_campaign=10iostips&utm_term=Retention

What a talented group of people. The space that Danielle and Jim made available for us was perfect. Can't wait to come hack at the next one, super productive.

    June 26, 2013

No room for hate in game making.

Hi all, I don't think I'll be able to make it to tonight's meetup. But, I wanted to ask if a creative/designer advisor would be useful for anyone? I have 13 years experience on consoles and mobile freemium as a design director type. If so, I'll try to make the next one!

What's parking like in this area and where is the best place to park for this event? I'm new in the bay and still getting to know the city.

    June 26, 2013

    • Danielle S.

There is are two public parking lots across from each other on Howard and Second streets and a limited amount of street parking. Since it's a little later in the evening parking should be easier, but I recommend public transportation.
Public transit: From the Montgomery Street Muni/BART Station, exit on to Market Street and turn right onto Second Street. www.bart.gov, www.sfmta.com.

By car from the East Bay: From Interstate 80, take the Fremont Street exit and veer left toward Fremont Street. Turn left onto Howard Street and continue to Second Street.

I would love to make it to this but I have another group at 7 on Thursdays. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one!

What's a better day of the week for you?

      Tuesday would work :-)

Since I'm traveling, I won't be able to make any group sessions it until after August 26th. I would like to attend one probably beginning of September during the weekend, preferably Saturday if people can. I'd appreciate it if we do hold a session during that time frame :D! Plus, how will we split into groups? I don't have much experience with creating games, except for some high school projects.

    June 26, 2013

    • Danielle S.

Generally people self-organize into groups or solo projects. Don't worry about your experience level, everyone was a beginner sometime. That's what this group is all about anyway, getting better at making games.

      June 26, 2013

  • Scott P.

I'd like to find a couple of people to playtest a level in my game.

    June 26, 2013

  • Michael C.

I'm in Lugano meeting about a European social game for international project management. Go figure. See you next time.

    June 26, 2013

  • David M.

Do I need to bring anything? Or are we just talking about our games?

    June 25, 2013

    • Danielle S.

We're all going to be working on our own games, so bring what you use to work on your game. This first meeting is mostly going to be a jam session, but depending on what people are interested in I'm happy to organize tech talks.

Interested in it, but difficult to make it. SF is bit far for me. I live in Sunnyvale.

    June 25, 2013

    • Danielle S.

Sorry to hear that. I'm open to hosting an occasional weekend meeting if people are interested.

      June 25, 2013

    • Atul P.

      That'll be great, thank you!

      June 25, 2013

  • Gabriel H.

I am likely to bring at least +1. This next couple weeks is going to be hot and heavy game dev time for me so this should be pretty fortuitous.

I'd really like to pair up with someone who knows C++ & Visual Studio fairly well, but needs help with general 3D & graphics theory.

    June 25, 2013

  • Adelyn C.

Won't be able to attend, but I would love to know when the next meeting will be!

    June 24, 2013

    • Danielle S.

What's a better day for you? I'll keep people preferences in mind when scheduling the next one.

      June 25, 2013

Looking forward to the next one!

I'll try to attend Thursday if I arrive from LA earlier than not :x

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
