It's hard to put that into words, but i think the biggest motivation and excitment is the creation itself. At the beginning of the development of a game there is nothing but an idea of a game. You create a product out of nothing but your own imagination and creativity. While thinking about how the idea of that game could be realized, it already gets some shape and details. At the moment you can imagine the whole game without ever been able to play it you start to bring the game into being. In the creation process you just take the vision you have and bind it into the software. Even if its hard to get the game to feel like it should, in all that processes you work on it you also work on your idea and constantly put yourself into the game. At the moment you consider the game to be finished the result will be a pure expression of yourself. That is what is motivating me and giving me the excitment every time i tell someone that i develop games.
My name is Dustin, im 24 years old and live in Zürich. Originally i grew up in Diez (Germany/RLP). Right now two friends of mine and me are about to found a company together for developing video games in Unity 3D.
