Thank you everyone for your comments. Even if I can provide or gain a little feedback, I'm excited to give this a try. I just wanted to be careful not to get locked into playing REALLY long games even after everyone has shared their input and was concerned about maybe bringing something that wasn't a good fit for a "true gamer" group. See you soon and thanks again!

I had a quick question. I was wondering if this group focused mostly on "heavier" games as opposed to party games or card games. I enjoy all types but didn't know if anyone would be open to seeing games that are fairly light in mechanics. BTW... I stumbled onto the TED Talk and though it was awesome!

It runs the gamut, really. Some are 15-minute party games (e.g. I shared one that was basically about stacking ice cubes), and some are epic strategy games.

I brought a party game last meeting called The Breakup Game and will likely be bringing a refined version to the next Meetup as well. It went well and the group provided a good array of opinions for me to consider.

I haven't seen too many party games yet, but I have definitely seen (and brought) lighter games and card games as well.
