Board Game Design & Prototype Circle Meetup

*** Please Note that we're on the 14th floor this week!!! ***

Bring your prototype, or just your game design sense!

We've reserved the following rooms for this meetup: Charles, Fenway and Kendall near the elevator on the 14th floor of the Cambridge Innovation Center -- give me a call at [masked] if you have any trouble getting in.

CGF is now covering meetup.com's fees. Thanks!

Hey Folks, had an absolute blast at the meetup. Got some great last minute feedback and I send out the prototype tomorrow. Loved playing Roboleteriat and Heist. Excited for the potential there.

Also some folks were asking about the Board Game Cafe coming to Boston , here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/knightmovescafe

Hey folks! We had a great time at the MeetUp. There was a request that we share our Kickstarter out with you folks and that seems like a grand idea.

    BEARD!: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1789474671/165580731?token=bf5a9121

    Going live on Tuesday.

Nice, have you also put it up on the KS facebook group to get some quick feedback before going live? https://www.facebook.c...

      September 30, 2013

    • Brian

No I haven't. While I follow the group, unless you are look for specific information or feedback, I find the comments to be often contradictory and not very useful..

Aerjen, I know you mentioned a link for suggestions regarding how to make good sales sheets. Do you want to post that as well?

Not sure what I'll be bringing, but I look forward to your new game!

Had a blast playing this! Looking forward to further revisions.

Is there a list of games and the people who designed them (with contact info) on this site? I have some more feedback to give to the Zombie Football guys, although I'm not sure how to reach out to them.

Hi Jeremy, you can get a hold of us through Thinkwell Games at FB, Twitter or Gmail. We'd love to hear more from you as we're in the process of tweaking some things.

Plated a great game of Ore and got some great feedback. The only bad thing about testing a 3 hour game is that I didn't get to play any one else's game. But hopefully I'l have time next time

Thanks for bringing it, Joe, I like the compound mechanics of public and private resource management. A lot for one's brain to chew on.

      Thanks for playing!

Early on at the meetup, someone floated the question, "Does anyone have alternatives to The Game Crafter for PnP / prototypes?"

One option I know of is Print & Play Productions, by Andrew Tullsen: http://printplaygames.com/. While I haven't (yet) used his services myself, I know one or two people who have, and have been quite pleased both with the results and with Andrew's work ethic.

(He also offers custom sizing / cuts for stickers and tokens/tiles, IIRC, which may be useful for some games.)

New room setup is a little awkward, but probably because there were so many people!

    September 28, 2013

    • Aerjen

Yup, theoretically these 3 rooms hold more people than the Havana room does. We just had more people than ever before. An interesting problem to have.

I had a great time playing Rootland and Zombie Football! So many great games, so little time. Happy to play Stack & Attack during the next meetup group with anyone who'd like to give it a try before the Kickstarter campaign ends on 10/10.

Nice, good luck playtesting on Friday.

Bummed. I am too ill to make it this time. I am so ready to share this prototype! Ah well. There is always next time.

I'll be bringing Zombie Football with me to try out a new market system for QBs.

I'll be bringing an initial prototype of my newest design, tentatively titled "The Right Team for the Job"
