From artist to coder - crossing the great divide!

For the March Game Technology meetup we are very pleased to announce that the title speaker will be local developer Jason Stark from Disparity Games who has kindly agreed to talk to us about his journey "from art director to sole coder" in his own company Disparity Games. Who are famous for Run Fatty Run which hit number one on the Australian iOS charts and the upcoming Ninja Pizza Girl.

Please note: that this is not the usual day for Game Technology Brisbane as we normally run on the first sunday of each month. However we ran into complications with booking the venue. We will be back to our usual schedule next month.

Bio: Jason is a veteran of the games industry with over 15 years of experience and 11 shipped game titles. Notable game credits as Art Director include Happy Feet 2, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’hoole and Viva Piñata: Party Animals, which was included in the Xbox360 family games pack and won an Australian industry for best art. He has developed games for the PS1, PS2, Original Xbox, Gamecube, PS3, Xbox360, Wii, PC, iOS and Android.

I really enjoyed Jason's presentation. I'm coming from more of an artistic background and studying, so it was quite applicable. Enjoyed all the interaction with the audience too. Awesome.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
