EverQuest. That feeling I got of adventuring with a real life friend of mine and others in that 3D world is something I haven't been able to replicate since.
I haven't been programming very long and I develop for database/business oriented software, but I do love gaming and follow the industry.
Like many kids who grew up playing games I always envisioned myself getting a computer science degree and then getting a job making games. I did the first part but never followed through on the second. So in a way, I'd be kind of fulfilling my childhood dream. That's probably hyperbolic but there it is.
The only game I remember programming was a version of Tetris in VisualBasic when I was in high school.
I'm a father of twin toddlers. I work at a software company and currently hold a programming position. When I'm at home I'm taking care of my daughters and eking out bits of gaming time when I can.
